I have ETKA 7.5 working on a VM and now I am going to try ETKA 8.0

Go to YouTube, it looks very good the new ETKA.

As a tip, do as I am doing and clone your VM. This way you have always a backup of 7.5.

I will try to upgrade and then I's say something!

I don't know where you're from, but here in Portugal prices are the same in ALL the dealers. Prices are defined by the VW representative for Portugal.

Guys, just wondering...

I've got a fully functional 7.5+ with the following updates already installed:
VW / AUDI: 1189
Seat: 715
SKODA: 721

Which would be the simplest way to get ETKA 8 going? Do I really need to download and install the whole 7.5 from scratch?

EDIT: GOT IT!

All I did was running the ETK8-UPGRADE-1186-712-718-1186.exe on my previously ETKA 7.5 1189 setup and everything went pretty smooth.

Now I've got both 7.5 1189 on a Backup-VM and the new 8.0 on my current VM.

Important thing to notice: the commercial vehicles part of ETKA is not working after this update. The main screen from the Commercial Vehicles points directly to the regular VW cars catalogue. As I don't use that part of ETKA I could not care less.

I've got an old VW car (1998) and for my car I can assure that absolutely nothing changed on ETKA 8.0. I did find the main interface a little bit simpler, tough. Almost like if someone decided to go minimalist on the user interface, LOL.

Anyway, thanks a lot Mr. Planet Fireball for providing me the password and for sharing with us such a gift.

Anyone knows why book symbol is disabled in ETKA? How do I enable parts bulletin book symbol if possible? I never get this symbol to display neither do I get any parts bulletin information to display.

Still having the issue that Etka 8 won't start, just nothing happens.
Dot net 2 and 4.7 are installed.

Anymore tips I can try before doing a complete uninstall and reinstallation?
