Hi all,

I've just read all the thread, just trying to validate I'm going to follow the correct process:
1) Update to K0260 (downloaded the firmware from this thread today)
2) Update maps (downloaded the maps from this thread today)
3) Update FSC (downloaded from this thread today)

Is there anything else I need to do? I understand FSC is the activator, so no extra activator is needed, isn't it?

Just one question, after updating to K0260, are my current original maps (2014/2015) going to work? Or do I need to do the three steps at once?

Ok, just succeded to update my MMI 3G (Basic). The steps I followed are:

STEP 0: Knowledge acquisition

1. I read all this thread. Completely.
   
2. Downloaded recommended manual from here: https://cartechnology.co.uk/showthread.p...#pid340613
   
3. I read all the manual v1.7, although I didn't followed the steps exactly (I'll detail it below).
   

STEP 1: Update firmware to K0260.

1. Downloaded firmware from here: https://cartechnology.co.uk/showthread.p...#pid342909
   
2. Copyed files to a FAT32 formatted SD
   
3. Removed all SD cards from car
   
4. Selected Radio in MMI
   
5. Inserted SD card form firmware into slot 1
   
6. Entered Engineer Menu, and followed updated instructions on screen (about 15 minutes in total).
   
7. You can use UPDATING FIRMWARE section in manual v1.7 if you want. It is exactly what I did.
   

STEP 2: Applied FSC 2018 for MMI 3G BASIC

1. Downloaded it from here: https://cartechnology.co.uk/showthread.p...#pid354387
   
2. Followed update steps similar to steps 2 to 6 in previous STEP. This time I didn't followed the manual, just repeated the steps in same order. Total time about 3 minutes.
   

STEP 3: Update maps to 2018

1. Downloaded maps from here: https://cartechnology.co.uk/showthread.p...#pid354688
   
2. Copyed files from West Europe (DVD 1) to SD card.
   
3. Inserted card and the system offered me to update.
   
4. I selected yes. No hidden menus, no engineer menu, just that way.
   
5. About 5 minutes after, my maps were working.
   

IMPORTANT MESSAGE: Frist, I tried to update the maps using Engineer menu, giving me no option to do it (when I pushed Start Update button, it just didn't work). Then I tried to do it as normal user with new SD cards, and it just worked

Big thanks to everybody making this possible. Just wanted to put it all together so that newbies like me have it easier.

I am not expert on this, just followed "other ones'" instructions, so this maybe won't work for you. Read, read, read, ask, and thanks!!

Edit:
Update on BNav succesfully done, activator by Baas J. Is working flawless.

1. Updated firmware to k0260
2. Installed FSC by Baas J.
3. Map 2018 installed

With this activator no more issues when swaping maps east to west or opposite.

I have to report certain problems after yesterday maps update. Yesterday all was fine, I have done sd card swap to test how it works when switch to west EU and all went fine so I reported here that all works nice. The sd card with 2018 map was inserted in MMI from yesterday and this morning when MMI turned on there was a message on MMI display about "New database 2018 update found" like someone took the sd card out and reinserted it back. Update was confirmed and after media scanning message "No update device found" appeared on display. and MMI was stuck so it has to be force reset. After reseting MMI the sd card was inserted to Slot 2 but the same thing happened. I think that maybe SD card adapter is bad or MMI dont like certain SD card brands but we will be smarter tommorrow when new SD card (no microSD with adapter) with 2017 maps will be inserted. It seems that old problem with map swich is still here even Baas J. was modified the activator.

Hi, when I update the K0260 firmware this happens: the metainfo could not be read. What can I do? thank you.

What about situation when updating from 2017 activated with old activator? Do I have to remove old FSC activator and install new one for 2018 or just install new activator over old one?
