Mini R50 - code used BC1
Hi guys,

Need to replace BC1 module (it is BC1RD). Car had water damage.
Bought used one, same pn. Install, code with ncs expert.
ISTA-D shows green ECU. Can't switch air recirculation, can connect to xenon module (red on ISTA-D), also MFL buttons don't work.
Not sure if other things damaged by water or module not correctly coded to car.
With tool32 i can see VIN is not matching (INPA don't have option to see UIF), but i can change it with (no job c_fg_ schreiben or others).

Any ideias? Since i can't use winkfp...

Thanks.

The module in your picture is a BC1, not BC1RD.
BC1 comes in the aluminum casing and data is stored in MC68HC912D60 mask 0K75F. BC1RD is the newer version with black plastic casing and 93C76 serial eeprom.
What makes me wonder is how you managed to code the second hand unit with NCS. I've never been able to code one without erasing old VIN. NCS always came up with a error message... thinking

I realized that it is BC1.

Can i read/write  MC68HC912D60 to change VIN? Or any other way?

I didn't get any error while using NCS expert, and ISTA reported no error (green ECU), but i believe it isn't correctly coded.

Thanks

Yes you can. A lot of tools support this MCU. It's secured so you need a special programmer (eg Xprog).
It's very likely that it's not coded correctly. Delete or change the VIN and recode it with NCS. Always worked for me.
Key data are also stored in BC1 so you better copy the complete dump if target is still readable to be on the safe side.

I'll try with VVDI, just need to google pinout for it.
Original is readable, since i managed to get key data from it. Still, going  for full dump.

Thanks
