Winkfp signature check failed when flashing ZBE controller
I have an '10 E82 with factory navigation. I tried to update my ZBE controller in WinKFP and it stopped working after I flashed it. When I flash the module it completes 100%, then I get this error message:
Error 211 Code Level Module Procedure Index Text 2086 PABD ZBE2 PruefeSignatur 2493 Signature check failed 11FLASH, NG_SIGNATUR_PRUEFEN (Programm) ERROR_FLASH_SIGNATURE_CHECK 2086 Error COAPI2.CPP coapiRunCabd 6 Signature check failed SG_PROGRAMMIEREN 2086 Error COAPIKF.CPP coapiKfProgSgD2 19 Signature check failed I’m using the latest daten files from ISTA-P 3.66 with k+dcan cable and 15A battery charger. I was able to flash my Combox, PDC, and DWA (these were retrofits) without a problem, but the ZBE keeps giving me the same error. I tried programming the ZBE in ISTA-P and I got the same error message. The ZBE shows up in INPA UIF with job status “OKAY”. Any ideas on how to get ZBE working again? |

RE: Winkfp signature check failed when flashing ZBE controller
You need to use an ICOM to recover it. Your K+DCAN wrote incorrect data, so the selfcheck failed.

I can recollect also on my e90 lci had the same issue while flashing ZBE with K+Dcan cable. Same error. Falshing with Icom recovered it.

RE: Winkfp signature check failed when flashing ZBE controller
Alternatively, a K+DCAN cable flashed with the ediabaslib firmware (for the Atmega) will fix it as well. The Chinese K+DCANs all have a firmware bug for specific modules.
Or just buy it at bimmergeeks already flashed with fixed firmware. |

The fuses have to be set as follows: Fuse Value (hex)Low 0xFD High 0xDC Extended 0xF9 (14-07-2019, 02:23 AM)mikeypx82 Wrote:(13-07-2019, 02:53 AM)Enabled Wrote: Alternatively, a K+DCAN cable flashed with the ediabaslib firmware (for the Atmega) will fix it as well. I found the firmware and the instructions here: https://github.com/uholeschak/ediabaslib...are-update I ordered an AVR programmer so I can update the firmware. According to the instructions, you are supposed to set the low, high, and extended fuses to 0xFD, 0xDC, and 0xF9. I'm not sure what this means. Can someone explain this? Thanks in advance! |

******* SOLVED **********
I updated the firmware on my K+DCAN cable and I was able to flash the ZBE controller without any errors. Thanks to everyone that pointed me in the right direction! |
