You will not get M working as dataset is only for lever.

That's bad... The only chance left is to try other param datasets from C,D,F,G,H and N units. Seems like dataset length is the same among all units (1503 bytes).
If you have any mentioned datasets exactly for Karoq, Ateca (additionaly for Touran would be also appreciated) - please share.

It depents in which format is the dataset file - ZDC you can write only with VCP; XML you can write with ODIS-E or VCP.
For example VCDS or OBDEleven cannot be used for dataset writing.

Thanks, with the help here, I got odis-e and with lots of google and with the above xml file of the ateca, I got my oem module to recognize the button and operate the trailer hook. I used gm mdi2 with odis-e and worked fine.
Indeed, vcds cannot write dataset, but it is a very useful tool.
