I have a japan import CIC fitted with emulator. Is it possible to use Europe maps? I am trying to generate map code using 1b but generator but is saying the file is invalid. Anyone can give me an idea?

Thanks.

Not sure what you are trying to do but this is how your 1B file looks like:

RE: BMW CIC PATCHER v2 - GENERATE YOUR OWN RETROFIT FSC CERTS
I want to upload Europe map instead of Japan. To be honest Japan map is much nicer than the Europe one. Has a lot of 3d buildings. But since I am using the unit in Europe is not useful anymore. I tried to read it using dr Gini and FSTool. I will follow your advice and try to read using SWID. What I also noticed is that 19 is missing. There is only 1B, 27, 37 and 43.

Unfortunately not with this tool. First post specifically states that this method is only for ECE (Europe) and US units.

A little help here. As i have never done it before on an F series. I have a F25 with I-LEVEL version F025-11-03-511. I wanted to know if i can apply the patch and will it work without updating the CIC at the current I-LEVEL.

I used emulator, so the activation is not an issue. Now I was hoping I can change the map to Europe by normal procedure.

Thanks.

I have NOT tried this, and if you do this. It's on your own responsibility since I cannot verify that it works 100%.

But theoretically, you should be able to choose a ECE ZB when flashing. If no real hardware difference exists. It should be OK

You don't need to update. Just apply it yes

MGU virgin and patching in Europa.

RE: BMW CIC PATCHER v2 - GENERATE YOUR OWN RETROFIT FSC CERTS
Intel123, SweetBMW !

First of all let me share the words of warm appreciation with you guys - you did an excellent and unprecedented job!

I have an F10 with factory installed CIC. Just like many of other guys I wanted to extend it with 6NR, used the patch, applied all certs and everything worked well.

However at some point of time I decided to re-flash the CIC and all certs became unavailable, and navi got grey color in menu. (I know I could load the patched FSCs again, and resolve the problem)
So just for experiment I decided to rollback to original FSCs (from repair pack) and couldn't apply them as a root certificate (rcert.swt) is different with original one after patch. So I had to virginize CIC, replace root cert and import FSCs form repair pack. (Luckily I had the original rcert.swt, saved long time ago for backup purposes.)

Why I wrote my story -
1. I'd like to confirm with you guys if the situation I had is a normal one or it's something unexpected?
I mean that after CIC reflash all custom certs need to be re-imported?
2. I'd like to confirm what is the proper way to come back to a factory state of CIC including factory FSCs?
Is the backup/restore of original rcert.swt is an essential part of the "getting back" process? Or any other workaround is possible when there's no chance to find original rcert.swt?

If something from my experience is valid, then I'd sincerely recommend you guys to extend the "how-to" and add this information with a bold text for convenience and safety of others.

Please share your thoughts on this.

Thank you very much again for your contribution!
