That is NOT true. PCIe SSD and SATA SSD are like day and night even during windows startup. Couple of seconds vs in the teens-to-tens range. And ISTA data upgrade is EXACTLY what you talk about - either unpacking or applying deltas to HUNDREDS of gigabytes. Even without installation simple SEARCHING in ISTA by keyword is day and night difference!
And OP said he wants to change it, I don't see why not. That thing is ANCIENT. |

I buy Dell latitude 7420 i7 it will be next week had solder 16gb ram ddr4 and 256gb m.2 nvme 2280 I upgrade to 1tb and when it's almost full I think about couple of years I buy external SSD to only psdzdata full because I don do this very often thanks everyone for help
Ps dell latitude 93xx and 94xx series don't have room for 2280 nvme |

I personally use a LENOVO ThinkPad T480, i5, 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD, WIN10. I am extremely satisfied. I am currently testing stability on WIN11.
