Mercedes w216 CL500, problems with Comand
Hello,
I’m trying to figure out what my CL’s previous owner has done: Car is imported from Japan. When I bought it, comand screen was dead but radio was working ok for some time, and radio info was shown on instrument cluster display. Comand center knob nor surrounding buttons didn’t work on center console. Got the car home and pulled comand out, figured that one pair of “telematics” CAN wires were disconnected as well as one “30g” wire which comes from rear SAM. Plugged the wires back to to the connector and center knob started to work again. Comand won’t wake up nor go to sleep when I turn the key, it has to be turned on and off using the button in center console. It works like key is turned to off position even when car is running, and comand is turned on with on/ off button. I can see the climate control info on comand screen but info won’t change no matter what I do with AC. If I push multicontour seat button, comand screen says to turn on the ignition. If I try to access vehicle settings, comand screen says to turn on the ignition. I cannot change the language from comand menu, it’s not active. Radio info won’t be displayed on instrument cluster display, only “- - - -“ is shown. Steering wheel volume up and down buttons don’t work, although they did work earlier when driving home. There is no radio presets shown - is tuner not turned on? When I bought the car, I did have an access to tuner with Star, no I don’t. I can’t access to comand, tuner or central display. Question is, does the amplifier get the wake up signal first when key is turned, and could the signal be missing? I have wiring diagrams for Japanese comand, could someone help with H/K amp diagram? I’ll perform a new quick test later today and post the fault codes. Thank you in advance! |
