IMHO your question is wrong because it's too general. It's NOT that you GENERALLY need to do that.
But with CICs IN PARTICULAR the firmware of older ones does not support USB updates, you can update through DVDs ONLY. Probably not relevant with CIC-Highs on F series. Next, you have NOT specified whether you have CIC-High or CIC-Mid (or AT LEAST map type). Then you have NOT specified WHICH REGION you are IN. Then you have NOT specified the proper DATE of your car's build including month. And I suspect you specified year of first registration, NOT MANUFACTURE!??? ALL that is relevant because there is also a caveat with SOME CIC-MIDs IN PARTICULAR (approximately 2009-09 to 2010-03 production) where they have smaller flash size (8GB) and they will NOT fit for example newest Europe West maps. |
