RE: Bmw how to check real mileage
Hello!
To perform a good mileage correction you have to open the cluster. Take a look on the seal of the cluster and check it. It should not be broken. For newer cluster it's not neccessary to remove the needles so you will not see anything (so every needle is marked exactly to 0 when the car is off). This tipp is only available for older cluster from e-series (and for F-series 6WA from F01 with HW<=17). CU Oliver |

RE: Bmw how to check real mileage
With FEM, there will be an emulator if the old FEM has not been replaced. With CAS, at least on e-series, it is a piece of cake to mody modify the mileage.
There is an indirect method to evaluate diesel engine mileage. Use tool32 and read running hours and total used fuel amount from the DDE. Then you can calculate average speed and average fuel consumption. I the kombi has been manipulated, then the consumption goes up and the average speed goes down. |

The discourse of ap90500 many times it works but it is not always so
in city very large and chaotic short distances can take very time, so the engine runs and count the hours but it made little headway I checked a BMW 520d,bought new BMW guided always by the same person guided very very much in the city, the hours do not correspond with the kilometers |

RE: Bmw how to check real mileage
E6x scanner will read KMs from different modules, also an AK90 will read and display key mileage on later e series key fobs (but it won't do anything else!)
CBS correction is getting better known when brake pad wear sets to 255% and you have to manually adjust it. |

Also I stated that this method can be used to evaluate the mileage, so it is not an exact way to calculate anything. |

RE: Bmw how to check real mileage
Hello guys,
i`d like to read out the real mileage of manipulated E60 Reasion is, that BMW Dealer-Historie shows up manipulation, also instrument cluster`s seal on backside is damaged and EEprom 35080 was soldered. CAS was also opened. i`v already checked everything`s possible with Tool32 - (fault codes; AIF`s; ....), but without any result. what i checked out is now, that after manipulation, there are regardless some backup counter, that continue counting mileage from state of original mileage - on several control moduls, for example CAS or DDE and others. i`v got these informations from a BMW-developer, but he said it`s top secret. He said backup mileage can`t be read out with BMW standard tools (Tool32, Ista ....), i need special tools. so please can anybody tell me about special tools to read out these backups and where they are located ? |
