E60 CIC retrofit programming went wrong
I retrofitted a CIC head unit into a 2006 E60.
It worked once the install job was done. Everything was good except I had no sound. So from the research I did, I removed $694 from the VO and added $672, wrote the modified VO to CAS and LMA and coded CIC. I used the default profile in NCS. Now the CIC is gray and nothing works. Can someone please help me out this mess? |

RE: E60 CIC retrofit programming went wrong
Thank you very much.
I have done all of that, including using Expert Mode except change the build date. Do you or anyone else know why my CIC displays a gray screen though? I am worried it is permanently damaged. |

RE: E60 CIC retrofit programming went wrong
Both $672 and $694 have nothing to do with retrofittig cic so...just curious...as you never change build date to a cic one and also did not add $5VA...how did you managed to code cic???

RE: E60 CIC retrofit programming went wrong
Thank you so much for posting.
Is it possible we are discussing two different things? How did I code CIC? I typed up the steps I took in my original post. That's based on all the info I could find on the internet on various forums. Are those steps and the ones included in the manual kindly posted by member @lalaura wrong? Please comment. |

RE: E60 CIC retrofit programming went wrong
You should change the build date to a cic one and 5VA doesn't exist its 6VA.

RE: E60 CIC retrofit programming went wrong
Hi SuddenlyFast ,
Since you didn't mention vin of your E60 so I'm not sure is there an amplifer(HiFi) or not , to my experience , sound from CIC always got something to do with the MOST , IMHO. I would suggest you check the MOST to see if anything was interrupted in the optic loop , there won't be any sound if any member (bluetooth , amplifer, Kombi.. etc) was down . You mentioned your CIC is gray out , may I know is it the screen (CID) was black or there still is something but you just can't control it by i-Drive ( still bootable )? Talk about retrofit the CIC , may I know have you used the emulator or you did virginize the CIC and import FSC by your own ? if it was the first case than there's a chance the emulator may got connection problem (low quality from China ?) , anyway , verify if the hardware is working should be my first step to deal with this . Good Luck RReader |
