How to update INPA
Is there a way to update INPA in a way that gives all the fault codes in English? I've updated INPA with files from ISTA-P, but the fault codes are in German after the update.

I've updated INPA with files from ISTA-P, but the fault codes are in German after the update. The latest SP daten files and INPA scripts are German metric. The SP daten files from ISTA/P are not used to update INPA, but rather EDIABAS. EDIABAS provides the low-level programming interfaces and protocol transports necessary to directly communicate with the various vehicle modules. BMW Group applications such as INPA, ISTA/D, etc. leverage EDIABAS to communicate with the vehicle. Older SP daten files and INPA scripts are available in English. However, the caveat being that they may not support the latest modules, hardware revisions, and/or contain known bugs. In the example below, use of English metric SP daten ECU description files (SGBD files) results in unknown diagnostic trouble codes: If this information was helpful, please click on the thanks and reputation buttons. |
