XZBMW  CruiseControl not working after engine conversion.
Hi all! under

I have done an engine conversion in my 09/2006 520d E60. I put in the engine and powertrain for the 530d M57N2 09/2006, and got the DDE and my CAS aligned (Thanks AP90500!).

The guy i bought the DDE-CAS kit from told me it was from a 06 530d, but it was actually from a 06 330d.

This has caused my cruise control to not work.

After coding the vehicle completely it still does not work. I've tried 544 option and 540 option. nothing works.

Does anyone have any ideas? No errors related to cruise in ISTA, only messages error from AHM (which i dont have) and errors related to CIC retrofit.

RE: CruiseControl not working after engine conversion.
Remove AHM from VO List.
I am not sure that you can use Cruise control if trailer is active like with active DTC you can't use the Cruise control.
Check coding of DDE.

Thanks, but AHM has never been in my VO as im using my original CAS but with second hand DDE. ISN in DDE was changed to match my CAS.

As far as I know there is no coding available until DDE7 was introduced?

In NCS Expert when changing type code to 530d there is no DDE coding available. Even in ISTAP there is only programming of the DDE, no Coding.

RE: CruiseControl not working after engine conversion.
I think it is software related in your DDE. According to the part numbers in etk they use the same DDE (E90/E60) but if i remember well E60 has different zusb number than E90 (correct me if i'm wrong!).

Maybe programming DDE with ista/p would do the trick but i don't know if you lose your ISN alignment.

If you read out DDE with inpa do you have any status blocks with cruise control?

RE: CruiseControl not working after engine conversion.
No I don't see any status for cc in inpa.
After I found out the dde was "wrong" I updated the egs and dde to latest software via ista p.

After this idle became a little rough and still no cruise control. Are there other ways of determining which zb is correct ?

RE: CruiseControl not working after engine conversion.
1. Go to Inpa and note the ZB number and ADR through UIF readout.
2. Open C:\EC-APPS\NFS\DATA\gdaten\HWNR.DA2 with notepad.
3. The file has lots of numbers in it arranged in sections. Each section start with $SG_ECU-FAMILY.
4. Use Ctrl + F to find the ZB number you got from Step 1.
5. When you do, note the ECU Family. See step 3.
6. Go to winKFP->Comfort mode, choose ZUSB.
7. Select the ECU Family from step 5 and click ok. The Integration position will be "Unverbaut" or will match the ADR in step 1. Leave it at Unverbaut.
6. Enter VIN
7. Click Done.
8. Th ECU address/integration position will be displayed on the first line of winkfp.
9. Click program!

If you get an ECU error at this point, instead of step 6, try

6. Go to winKFP->Comfort mode, update ZUSB
7. Click ok -> Enter Vin -> Program
8. Go on and confirm the ZB Update

Hope this helps!

RE: CruiseControl not working after engine conversion.
I have done this already. There was no error during programming. I double checked in inpa. And I do have status buttons for cruise control (resume. Accelerate and so on) and they all respond. But no cruise control that works.

Also. When passing 120kmh I get this red speed limit warning in the kombi. This has also appeared after programming. It cannot be turned off in the office because that warning is yellow. Not red.

RE: CruiseControl not working after engine conversion.
Also on another note. The original type code for my car was NC31. The 530d with M57N2 is NR71. When coding this into my e60 I suddenly got level suspension failure. There is no air suspension on the e60. Is my type code not correct?

For cruise control: reset variants thru Service function
