You know what they say about practice....

I like how this one turned out.

Soldering looks nice!!

Did you use drag solder method?

Yes, and lots of flux.
This time I used solder with some lead in it.

I also installed LT3010 and it is not good at all. It will make the tool not power on. Just 1 flash of the LED and off. I put the original chinese design voltage regulator and it worked again.

LT3010 from china or from Arrow? If its chinese then it could be fake.

I received the 4 samsung memory chips purchased from ebay.

Are these SAMSUNG memories original???
SAMSUNG 014
K6R4016C1D-UI10
TANE08ED KOREA

ALL 4 MEMORIES ARE THE SAME. Very similar to the one below

That memory works fine, but we can never really be certain they are original.

What got me a little skeptical was on the underside, in the recessed circles, it says TAIWAN. So which is it, Taiwan or Korea?

So that's when I decided to put the ISSI memory in, which is guaranteed genuine, even if it says Taiwan on it as well.... but at least the specifications are guaranteed.

That being said, I noticed no difference in how the VAS5054a runs with either. The tool works the same, as far as I can tell.

RE: VAS5054A PCB Difference
I also added a picture above and corrected to TANE08ED.
Yes you are right. I just observed that detail. It says Taiwan. I had to get a magnifying glass to read those small letters.

I am still waiting for the au and oki before making my vas5054a look at least original smile.

Cheers for the confirmation.
