do the maths, is a clone going to be as good as original? however is clone worth ruling out? no. for the cost it can make you lots of money, i started with genuine slave tool, then got reworked unit, once saved money bought kess genuine master

but a reworked clone at the least

Is it possible to make rework on red PCB KTAG to works well? I bought it because people said red pcb is best clone from China

Mate, please, I am newbie, if you dont want to help it’s okay, really. Maybe will someone else do. But this comment doesn’t help me in any way. I am writing red pcb, so people who want to help, know what I have. Maybe there are differences in reworking components from red pcb and green pcb. Maybe, but maybe not. How I said before, I am new, so I don’t know.

on subject .... colour of pcb = nothing but colour
the 2 threads for rework ktag and kess on the forum is all you need to look at

compare the components on the pcb with the original pics and then change which ever you need to change
or for a complete good repair, replace everything for new

iv also said all this over and over before, pcb can be made any colour its just gimmicks
i also ask for any eu so called made pcb's to proove they are actually made in the eu etc (whats the differance from eu and china)
to my knowledge all the kess and ktags are all made in china and then some are reworked and sold as eu
iv also seen so called eu clones sold and are actually china made and not even reworked.

As said you cannot write off a clone as its come in hand for me over the years, for what they cost they are handy to have

its just annoying that these threads are created because it gives remapping a bad name

too many people are asking if they can make a £60-100 china clone into a reliable tool that they can start business with, undercut the people who have genuine tools so on so forth....maybe brick an ECU and then be stuck recovering

I know it is not a big investment, but when I started here one month ago, i also had the idea to buy a better tool. And then, then my PMs exploded, because everyone wants to make business with newbie and wants to sell him his tools. When you are new, you don’t know who you can trust. And normally, everyone had the best tool, other that the others ones and so on. So I bought the red pcb China set, better 200€ for nothing than 600€ or even more (I became offers from 200€/tool to 700€)
@8baller: what do you prefer now to my situation? To make rework with my new tools, or buy new ones(finished reworked)?
