Hi, I have an issue with the combox.

Ive succesfully retrofited a CIC with intel´s swt patch. now I wanted to retrofit a combox media. I connected everything and now my combox isnt connecting. I changed to VO and reseted CAS and CIC. In ncs I have the modul media and if I press on it it gives me the cmedia version and seams that it can connect BUT its not working. every time i try to do SG_reset, FA_write or similar i get an error. Inpa doesnt see the combox, tool32 isn´t working on my laptop.

Does anybody had this issue too? need some help.

btw, combox is media and it an BN2000 for e series

which daten version are you using? can you read ecu media in ncs?

v65. CIC has latest firmware. CIC.C1A i think. cant read anything from it. always gives an connection error. other modules are working. combox has c05 i think.
Only thing is that i have an loop error on MOST but logic7 and cd changer are working and i tried to disconnect the MOST from the combox and saw light coming out from the MOST conectora as alsow from the combox.

On the combox stiker i have Type: Combox media BN2000, Date 11.08.2015

Is it maybe that the date of the combox and the MFG date in the VO have anything to do with it?
My has #0409, for coding i use #0411.

Did you check Combox wirring? CAN L and H did you connect to car wirring?
I will make same retrofit on E90 in this weekend.

Do not need can if not retrofitting telematics Combox.

I did connect them to the canbus by the PDC. afterwards i readed that its not mandatory for combox media.

First of all you don’t need can for combox media.
Second try to sort your most bus errors. Because combox communications are over most bus.
If you have a Icom a and b, then try to connect only combox over icom b for that you will need a most cable. Then power the combox and set the interface to most_async_ab625 and check if you can see the combox in inpa.
BTW once you add 6VC to VO it will show you ecu media in ncs even if it not physically connected to the car.
For your other question the production date of combox does not matter.
I’ve retrofitted 2012 built combox on my 09/09 E90.

So i have no most error anymore. It was because i gave te power to combox via pin 2 then pin 1. But still not working. I disconected can from combox but still nothing. Going later to conect directly most to combox. I hope i can get this working. Cheers

Ive conected it directly to icom b bit nothing. Ihf-0009.
The combox gives light impulses out si it has power and should work but the car doesnt see it. Is there any solution to flash it maybe with winkfp. Question, should it give mo power on the usb port under the armrest when it got power?

Power on pin1+2 on combox.
Usb from armrest is powered when combox starting.
I manage to make retrofit in this evening and all is working.
