can someone help me? i have installed xentry passthru as described, and it works good, but i am trying to connect to a w220 2000 s class, so xentry changes over to DAS. the tool i am using is a VCX nano 5054 for VW. the tool connects to the car reads the VIN and voltage, when i try to access a module i keep getting.

" initialization of diagnosis multiplexer failed. possible cause :{ diagnostic system data sectors are incompatible or faulty. please contact the user help desk."

i have reset computer and retested. tried various drivers but will not go any further.  

the tool is connected via a wifi hotspot, and i do notice the voltage drops out every so often and returns. but do you think that tool is the issue or a software fault?

VCX nano must always use latest firmware & driver j2534?, have you updated firmware & driver & have Vxmanager installed ?, and try connect with the VCX cable, also disable or remove antivirus - it interferes with VCX nano

I will check for latest firmware on device, i am nearly sure is is up to date. and vxmanager is installed.

i am unsure how to update the driver, can you advise of the process?

Im not sure if this makes a difference but i run xentry though a VM running win7. on this machine i also have VW ODIS and JLR SDD, ODIS works 100% and SDD untested.

i cant use a cable as the middle of the USB is missing and the seller is AWOL(long story) but can successful access it via ip and and a mobile hotspot, i am currently trying to find someone local who can carry out the repair to the USB.

but essentially should the VCX nano support this application?

probably it is a hardware (sdconnect) failure mate.
if das works, what das vehicle that you diagnose?
you need to test das vehicle that read ignition from CAN.
you can try w204 with das. if das gets ignition error too, it is definitely a bad sdconnect.

thanks for the driver update wakawaka, my current driver was a version behind, and i downloaded the lastest firmware which was also 1 version behind as the new version was 30/11/2018, upon loading the firmware update the process failed and has since stopped communicating with vxmanager, seems to be bricked possibly, as previously stated the usb connection is no good to use, so im at the end of the road with this tool for now until it is repaired.

i have ordered another cable as i want to try something with a cable not wireless to rule that out, it is a "V154 JLR Mongoose SDD Pro For Jaguar and For Land Rover" i know it states mongoose pro is compatible with xentry pass thru so should this one do the job?

if so as these cables are j2534 pass thru, should they work with other software if the driver is correct for the software? i.e. could i use this with fords IDS, or toyota techstream, GM tech2

the tool support j2534 pass thru so it would/should work with other software that support j2534 fully. however I do not think it will work with ford & mazda IDS as it support VCM hardware only and not pass thru (you could try..). Techstream & GM tech2 I never use before.

However if you want to do Ford/Mazda the tool should work with j2534 in FORSCAN software (free for windows) and can do lots of stuff for Ford/Mazda. Advanced function require license - but register in FORSCAN forum and you can generate license for free too! Here is link show how to use VCX j2534 passthru--->> VCX FORSCAN

I will definitely have a go at using the mongoose cable with these programs when it arrives, mainly though I would like it to work with xentry and DAS so fingers crossed.

The ford IDS thing confuses me a little, but maybe I'm overthinking this, so I previously worked at a JLR dealer that used mongoose cables for SDD but if the car was a jaguar before say 2005 then the legacy program it used was IDS (which makes sense as ford owned jaguar and land rover around this time), so surely ford IDS would be a similar setup (Maybe a question for the JLR section I suppose) .

I do use the vcx for forscan and it doesn't read DTC but I use a modded ELM327 cable that works a dream.

My main task at the minute is using Xentry passthru, I don't work on enough Mercedes to justify paying for a full SD multiplexer, so I'm trying a few ways to see if I can get around this.

I think I installed all patches correctly, but on x86 Win 7 I keep getting 222-32 error.

do you mean your key is not accepted by configassist or your key always deleted after going online?

don't forget to:

• copy dll file to c:\windows\system32
  
• double click "old key loader for configassist or startkeycenter 32bit.reg"
  
• use x4711 Methods to protect lic_key_2.dat in c:\programdata\licdir
