previously I could use the software, but now when I do interface testing ''please connect your interface to the usb port''

Check the FTDI driver version.
Try to use drivers versions 2.8.28 or 2.8.30 or even 2.10.0 but not newer

i have same problem tried this installed 2.8.30 but still the same  with op-com 170823c_en

What kind of 170823c EN do you try?
Is your interface in "HQ clone" mode?
Is the 170823c EN for "HQ clone" moded interface or for original interfaces?
Are you using win 10?

its the vaux-con interface
came with the china clone software but has orignal chip came with the 1.59 software( has flashed ok a few times to 1.39 and 1.45 and back to 1.59 and back and forth with the differing software vaux-com and op-com)
using windows 10 64 bit , tried drivers from 2.8.30 to 2.12 i think the latest ones was .
works all ok with older versions of vaux-com and op-com but wanted the newer op-com which as installs as vaux-com? due to having a freind that wants a later meriva b key key reprogramming that has lost since and their central locking is also playing up with the orginal , (thinking the central locking module may be at fault but wanted to do the reprogrammng to make sure first )

Try ocflash first and see if you can reflash your tool at any firmware you have other then the one is installed in your MCU.
If you tried it with a opcom version for as we call HQ clone then maybe could be a problem for you.
In win 10 if you are using vauxcom 120309a or the fake one with added langdata from newer versions you should use drivers versions up to 2.10
2.12.xx will not works
Newer real versions works only with interface in HQ clone mode or with originla softwares with activation for each interface using a loader.

ok thanks , flashed it with the 1.66 fw and works with vaux-con 160115a , but still same with op-com prof 170623c_en please connect device to usb port or install driver .sigh

looks like i ahve to search about putting interface in hq clone mode , if i remeber waas soemthing to do with changing a couple of letter in the flash file ?
cant remember where i saw it though lol

First of all what vauxcom 160115a do you use?
Are you using vauxcom 120309a+160115a?
Or real vauxcom 160115a?
First one is for china cline and it is a fake
Second one was for HQ clones.
What 170823c EN are you try to use?
There is one for original or china clone and one for HQ clone.
So as example for you to understand better.
If your tool is in Hq clone mode and you are using vauxcom 160115a for HQ clone ( of course) and you are trying opcom 170723c EN for original or clones you will have the error that you describe and viceversa.

To be sure what kind of tool you have ( in which mode it is ) you can use OCflash. When you are trying to see to flash it you will have an warning message before flashing that will warn you that you are in HQ clone mode if your tool is in Hw clone mode.

About how to calculate that  bits for Hq clones mode I don't think there are many that can do it.

am using vauxcom 120309a+160115a  it didnt come with the device i got it seperately ,

guess i may stick the working  160115a as its working and less messing about and should do what i needed it to ,

the 170823c EN seems to be the original , i did have 2 different ones but guess i deleted the wrong one when i was cleaning up the folder i made and thought id messed up and downloaded the same one twice

what i did notice though when i opened my board it has v2 wrote on it , not sure thats good or bad but as it has original chip im guessing its good , thanks for help .

170823c EN for original or china clone should work with your china clone but you need to activate it.
If when you run opcom 170823c EN it shows you that error at the begging whithout the interface connected to the USB then it is for HQ clone. Original should start w/o interface connected as the fake vauxcom you have.
