On my evo both are done. FDL and ssh with featureinstaller. But my istep is to low. It's on 2017-11.

First I will update the Istep to 07-2018 and run featureinstaller again. Then enable in fdl and see if it works.

According to the guy from which the picture above was taken. The screen will end up like that and cannot be reverted. The only way to fix it is to reflash the headunit. The patch seem to be specific for BMW HMI and not for MINI.

The question is. What is the reason he has this bug? incorrect patching? apix1 screen? or does it require manually patching a file with ssh? If so, which file and how to do this exactly?

Yes, you are right iLevel has to be >=07/18 for full screen to work. Currently, there are no public solutions or no one will share how to revert to non-fullscreen without flashing, if you are interested in reverting it, you can contact with me within WhatsApp.

Anyhow, if iLevel is appropriate and FDL coding done right with the right 143 FSC inserted everything should be ok!

YES, if all criteria is met it should be just fine.

it is simple to revert to split screen if you have used the feature installer (this will not work if you use FSCmap solution) - code full screen to not active and temporarily code the screen resolution to different value - then code resolution back to original.

Just installed 2018-11 (2018-07 actually)Istep with succes. And have all stuff working. Only carplay is exactly like the first post. Big icons with a black patch on the right. It seems that everything works only the patch stays where it is... I just sent you a PM @pshoey

Just to let you all know. Yesterday we tried allot to make full screen carplay work on my istep 07-18 hw 4.1 id5 MINI headunit. Icons become big and screen is bigger only the black patch stays on it, what ever we tried.

Then we tried to remove it with a bin file that also failed. So when installing Full Screen Carplay on MINI HMI it will fail and you will be unable to revert the changes. For proper reverting we may have a solution, se below.

We are still testing with @pshoey . There might be a solution for this. To fix it we will extract the correct files from a working Mini id5 istep 07-18 and see if it will restore mine. If it does. Then we have a file to go back to when any new tests fail. And pshoey may also have proper parameters to work on a FS patch for MINI HMI.

For now, Full Screen carplay will not work on Mini HMI (yet)

FS patch removed. Icons stay big as if FS was enabled. When apps are started they are opened behind the splitscreen. IPhone also thinks screen is 16:9 still.

That's because mini sw is not an actual 18-07-*** as the BMW one, it's much older, and there's no fullscreen functionality by design. Nobody would help you with it if he's not the dev at the harman.

That's because mini sw is not an actual 18-07-*** as the BMW one, it's much older, and there's no fullscreen functionality by design. Nobody would help you with it if he's not the dev at the harman.

All coding options are available, and when enabling it does effect the system. Only major difference between BMW screen and MINI screen is that BMW utilizes full 8.8 inch mini does not utilize the sides of the screen of the 8.8 inch. If this can be fixed I think the solution is there.

@pshoey succesfully restored the unit to splitscreen carplay with a bin file over usb. Hopefully he will be able to release a fs fix. For now we have a file to go back...
