Hi,

I have a MMI that comes from an Australian car.
I see there's already 0942_3 EU firmware installed, but Australian map installed.

In green menu I see internal region code is set to "Rest of World".
And Active HDD Nav DB: "2/13 Australia"

I want to install this MMI in EU car.
Can i just update the maps through engineering menu to 6.28.2 Europe and it will work?

I'm sorry but I'm not an expert on changing regions, there are good online tutorials (and in this forum) in principle with the European firmware the European map should work, but I don't know if there are any more internal changes to be made.

You will be able to do this smoothly, you will go to the green menu of the region on europe then you will delete the database after you restart the drive then you will delete the partition hdd, then you can install the ec maps 6.28.2
you will switch to DB EU 3/18 HDD Nav assets
Si internal region code 2/7
You have the software so you will not have to go to the SWDL Ignor variant code folder

I accomplished it I think..

First updated the firmware from 0900 to 0942 without problems.

Then entered into green menu, deleted the Australia map database, changed the Active HDD Nav DB to "EU" and after reboot deleted the nav partition. MMI gave notice that new map must be installed and also new parts of software.

Then tried to install 6.28.2 EU maps which gave an error on MMI. MMI stated that there was a region conflict, MMI is set to ROW and I was trying to install EU maps. I could only cancel. Then tried again with the box "ignore region" in SWDL green menu checked. This time it did install. After installing all seems to be working fine and displays correct information when checking Version Information.

After map I installed firmware once again in User Defined mode because I noticed that it didnt install parts of EU software before, probably because region is set to Rest of World.

So, the last thing:
Internal region code is still set to "Rest of World", I dont dare to change to EU. I dont know what happens.

Do not change the region anymore that they will not see the maps anymore and they will have to be reinstalled.
If everything works well, leave everything as it is now.

Should have changed it before map install. Didnt dare as in every tutorial it says it muct be changed to ROW. And as it already was on ROW i just left it...

When softwareupdate on P1001 comes first error 150 and if you reboot the 2nd image. Energency update was ready without success, landed, if man after emergency update, what goes through properly, the firmware plays again again at error 150th.

fterwards Navigartion is starting and loading up to 45% and than Navigation is initalisating

You will need to install the software using the Emergency update method, then delete the hdd database and partition, set the hidden menu to ignore the variant, then enter the update menu and write the P1001 software. is the MMI3GP unit from Europe? . see in the photo above to your colleague, if in the hidden menu you crossed Europe.
