You can use your DCAN, but must simulate voltage. If you install ISTA with my installer, then is VoltageControl included, but must activate it, look in Startmenu.

Yes, i do see that Voltage Control on Startmenu. I activated it and still no connection. However, I did play with
port settings and edit obd.ini file. Would this be causing the issue? OR should I re-install again with your installer and leave everything as default? with the exception of ISTA+ interface settings.

This Thread is for my Standalone Releases, always latest.

ISTA Standalone

* HW-check disable only if needed (replace ISTAGUI.exe with ISTAGUI.exe_HW_patch)
* read FASTA Data from Vehicle is disabled in Config
* no VIN7 patch
* if you use my Regfiles, open it with Notepad and change the InstallLocation to the right Location on her PC.
* to programming with ENET replace RheingoldProgramming.dll with RheingoldProgramming.dll.patched_for_ENET_programming (At your own risk.)

- for Diagnose only, neccessary SQLiteDBs OTHER, en-GB, de-DE and BLP in the same Version as App (example 4.17.4x).
- for Programming is SDP needed, using older Versions allowed. Not ask me for upload.


Standalone: ISTA 4.19.40.18949 / SQLiteDBs (en-GB,de-DE) 4.19.40 / BLP 4.19.40

You can update with IstaLauncherConsole to next update, when it appears, but only SQLiteDBs/SDP/BLP, not App itself.

I see, I'm having issues with version 4.19.40 (works fine on 4.19.30) when a new standalone version comes out, i delete everything from ista folder, copy the new files,then i run rcleaner4.4, reboot and launch ista i enter the license info, i close it and run ista launcher console it updates all the SQLiteDBs/SDP/BLP files then it completes successfully but with 4.19.40 its not working, i get a IstaLaucherServiceImpl.PerformServiceTasks - Exception occurred: System.IO.DirectoryNotFoundException: Directory not found while copying C:\Temp\ISTA_Store\Temp\BMW_ISPI_ISTA_DELTA-SDP_4.19.11\psdzdata\kiswb\S15A\KIS.backup to C:\Program Files (x86)\BMW\ISPI\TRIC\ISTA\PSdZ\data_swi\psdzdata\kiswb\S15A\KIS.backup ---> System.IO.DirectoryNotFoundException: Could not find a part of the path.

ISTA installed and launches fine, but I cannot get test plan or service functions to work on my E39. I think they may be working for newer cars though. But I never had this issue with previous versions of ISTA. Is there a problem with my install or something else? I really would like this to work.

I am using ICOM connection and did the vehicle test.


You can test yourself by putting in this VIN (attached photo) and look at service functions if yours is blank or not.

Likely problem with your install. Vehicle construction date is incorrect..

Check your IstaLauncherConsole registry-settings. You have delete it from registry with rcleaner.

Well any idea where I should start looking? All I did was download Sedoy's files and ran the installer. It did everything from there. Yeah, I just noticed the construction date as well. 

I have installed ISTA 4.19.15. Using your VIN, ISTA shows Service Funktions.

Which windows are you running? I recently switched to Windows 10; never had an issue running in Windows 7
