Why can't you disable UAC? It could be the problem, or maybe the virtual environment BIOS (if you work in UEFI mode and protected) Consider, if we don't find a solution, virtualize W7 64 bits and try.

I have disabled UAC (on WIN10, UAC cannot be disabled totally) and execute step 6(method 1) and the result is the same.

The next step I will try to install Xentry on WIN7 VM

but i don't know if this idea is good because i don't try vmware.

i download vmware program ver14 too. very interesting to play with.

it is very interesting to know that xdos+old key gets trouble with smart 253 my2016 and this is the first time (at least for me), to know the fault. 
if you want to research, you can try the 2018-09. if not,you can ask audiomeca. he is one of the experts with mb smart car.
