RE: BMW MGU - New BMW Radio
It seems small for a pro iDrive version.
Really sure this version is the one that will replace the EVO and NBT HU ? |

RE: BMW MGU - New BMW Radio
Before there were things like CIC Mid and CIC - MGU is now bringing it back, thus instead off EntryNav and NBT, we will have
MGU Basic - Entry MGU Mid - Navi Business (1.5 din) MGU High - Navi Prof (1.5 din) Further more MGU screens will use Apix3 - which was in id5/6 Evo software but never used. MOST ring is removed because of cost reduction - less diagnostic devices needed, less software aspects, less production, cheaper production. Also it was absolutely unnecessary as ethernet can do the job just as well and maintain Digital connection just like MOST. - Same reason for External AMP - it is cheaper, and makes more sense to convert signal and amplify them as close to output as possible DVD drive - not 100% sure that MID and High will have it external, have not seen any confirmation of it yet. ACTUALLY - X7 interior has CD drive in the same place as always, which would indicate that High version still will have it built in. MGU unit is hard to launch on table as it requires CAN4 from new BDC3 - difficult to obtain yet, and well to have it run on table. Further more, yes. BMW implemented many additional security protocols and control points, but we will learn how to live with them and still retrofit here are some photos of MGU High 1.5 DIN B29 (CPU high, 6GB RAM, 32GB eMMC, HDD, WLAN, USB2, OABR 5Port, DVD, GPS, CVBS) Was it helpful? Greatenjoy,
