Maybe some of the professionals wouldn't mind sharing some wisdom here.

What would be a good tool that is able to virginize the BMW/Mini DMEs,  or make it possible so a second hand DME can be installed in these cars.
MAKE LIFE EASIER.
At the same time maybe to be a good BMW key producing/programing tool.

I was considering VVDI BIMTool Pro, from XHorse, because it has very good Key making abilities, but as I understand, it is not very good unlocking DMEs .
Good with CAS as I see.

  I'm working on getting the AutoHex II Kit.
volavka recommended it as well.  Seems to be a great product from what I all read.

Talked to their tech support person decno a little as well, he was nice and helpful. 
It is true that the advertised 10% OFF for CarTechnology members only applies to the top of the line set. $5,850.  I was considering the $2,650.00 kit, based on my needs I found that to be suitable.  Let Y'all know how it shakes out when I get one...

Guys behind AutoHex/Hexprog talked nice to me until I payed. So please look out with them. I think I have more trust in BMW explorer (I don't have it yet), but from what I hear from others.

I have autohex/hexprog for many years now and it works well. My issue is the time zone difference for support since I am in the USA and they close at 9am my time, but support has always helped me. Most of the time I can read ISN via OBD, if not on bench is 99%. You don't really virginize a DME but write the ISN for the car you are going to put it on. Or you can clone it with Hexprog.

Bmw Explorer is very nice does jobs well, support is good except like @Martinez9049 Im in US so for them to Replay takes some time.

  I don't exactly know who told me this, but might have been a Snap-On rep. a good
30 some years ago, " A TOOL IS ONLY AS GOOD AS THE SUPPORT BEHIND IT "
That proved itself to be true many of times. Certainly a FACT on these complicate electronic jiggers.

I've spoken with the guys at Diagspeed and they told me that support was USA based? Is that not true? I was looking at getting it last year when they had the sale going on due to autohex support hours. Sometimes I start a job at noon and kicking myself for the rest of the day until I can talk to support at 11pm.

Yeah i got it from Diagspeed, but they sometimes dont know the answers and they massage developer which i can do myself, other than that tool is great I only got stuck couple of times not knowing how to solve the problem other than that tool is easy to use

I've been working with autohex for two years and they helped me with every problem, and it's a very good device for isn and key.
