There is no cheap alternative.
C4 is expensive but is not limited to specific laptops ( or vm's) and old software like c3 .
C3 is not so cheap, on in long run, i will go with an sd c4.

Not exactly, in the case of the W209, from the end of 2003 it uses CAN for everything except some motor units. In general, after that date the use of K lines is residual, although it still exists.

Yes after 2003 they can access from CAN.
But in Xentry that most likely just use Kline in most of the time.
In his attached photo that is DAS that only use Kline I believe.

Das use can as well I have xentry pt with vas5054/open port and I use it on my old slk from 2004 and is working ok.

but UDS command through CAN is working in vediamo and DTS.
what do you think what kind of problem is it ?

Version of Xentry? UDS commands have nothing to do with the KWP protocol...

Version of Xentry? UDS commands have nothing to do with the KWP protocol...

Vehicle detection and DAS standalone was also working before.
someday later, xentry vehicle detect not work,
select car manually then diagnose in xentry still working for vehicle after 2007, vediamo all working,
but DAS standalsone cannot connect to car anymore.

Are c5 and c6 china clone will work too? Wich one ist the best?
C4,c5 and c6 clones are almost at the same price category.

C4 already is the cheapest for your need.
of course it is much expensive than those PT.

C5 is just same as C4 but more expensive,
C6 has DoIP capability but also not support old Kline, not work for you.

I‘m thinking to buy the c4 soon but i noticed the c4 has also 2 version with doip and without doip! Should i pick the one without doip? Or it‘s doesn‘t matter?
