RE: ISTA Standalone / Standard Tools / PSdZData_Lite - latest [MEGA]
Hi,

So I just updated to latest ISTA+ available, my old one was something like 4.20...

I just tested on my E39, and now, instead of automaticaly do an automatic car test, it says it could not identify all modules and says it can't connect to backend without internet...

My VIN is shown, car is well identified. I can still manually launch a car test, and it works.

I just wanted to know if it is an expected behavior with new versions.

thank you smile

Normally with old cars you need first put in full vin and then read out the car. Try this if it works..

RE: ISTA Standalone / Standard Tools / PSdZData_Lite - latest [MEGA]
When I select "full identification" and then chose my ICOM unit, the VIN is fully detected/written (WBA...., series, mileage etc...) as usual.
I never needed to manually enter the VIN before, I don't understand why I would need to do it now unless BMW changed ISTA+...

The car is still well detected as it always did before, but the automatic car test does not run anymore with this message (backend connection not possible without internet...)

I allways first put full vin for older cars and the read the car without problems. Try it...

Then you see this screen

RE: ISTA Standalone / Standard Tools / PSdZData_Lite - latest [MEGA]
My car is not that old (2003). It does not switch in DIS mode.

And even with DIS mode, I never had to enter VIN manually before, even with an old E36 from 96', the VIN was always detected automaticaly. and It still does.

Edit : and again, this is not a big issue, once I have this "error message", I just close it, run a car test, and it works...
This is just that it never happened like this before.

Hello guys
did anyone get a proper connection with a K+DCAN USB cable from ISTA 4.34.40 or upwards? I configured everything but the file OBD.INI, what nearly every concerned post in different forums talks about is missing on my installation (ediabas\bin) and is also missing in the installation folder of the standalone version. Help is needed, I don't know what to do next, except buying a new cable to see if the interface is crap.

best

Install Ediabas separately. Use version 7.3.0
Then you can to change obd.ini in folder C:\Ediabas\bin\

  • BMW software remote installation via TeamViewer.
