need a bit of advice on coding in a used eps.. fitted the used rack on the car and initially it coded in fine when in the air .steering tested and was moving fine.
 put everything back together only for the steering to be rock solid when wheels were on. ista shows error now saying internal hardware fault on the rack but doesn't give any more information. 

now i thought before i try changing to another rack let me flash this one via esys but cant find a istep shipment that gives all black and allow me to flash.

anyone able to advise? 

and also is it safe to force flash an eps? seen instructions for this but not tried before

istep 16-07-503 will give me a black hewl but i cant find one that gives black on all cafd and swfl

if all swfl gives black, it means that is already at current istep of your psdzdata installed in pc.
you need to modify svt for eps files to force flash.

hi ive not found a shipment that gives all black. using 16-07-503 hewl goes black but the swfl, cafd stays red and black so when i try to flash the hwflash and blflash box is greyed out. only sw and cd deploy i can tick

from my understanding i need to find an istep shipment that gives hewl,swfl and cafd black but i cant find one that does. have gone from istep shipment 18 down to 14

also steering rack has a production date of 18, ive tried istep between 18 to 14

car doesnt need fsc for eps as it isnt the one with variable/adaptive steering thanks

you are completely wrong and need some more experience with esys. red or blue or black is not always related with i-step but with current state of programming.

I am still in the learning stage tbf on esys so Appologies if I've made basic errors . Where would I go from here?

there is not enough information. Text files dont tell anything. Post pictures from calculation

HI,

I am pretty sure, that ISTA showed this issue before, before mountin.
Flashing cant solve internal hardware problems - as you learned.
