RE: 6WB 160D0WT CHANGE/ERASE VIN
If the spare F01 cluster has lower milage, it is enough to change/erase VIN.

For the 35160D0WT you find all VIN locations (2x short VIN).

Read also M95320 right to the 35160D0WT. Mostly, there is also VIN stored.

Do you need to remove Vin in 95320?
I read mixed info, some say you should others say you don't have to as it gets rewritten when you program cluster to the car.

Not remove VIN, you must write the new VIN in to the M95320 also! (if it is found in it)

so I should replace the short and long vin if found in M95320 not put FF?

How about in 160d0wt ? should I put FF or replace the 2 short vins found with the new cars vin?

I'm planing on coding it with Esys wouldn't that write the vin in?

RE: 6WB 160D0WT CHANGE/ERASE VIN
Hmm...
I haven't tried rewriting it to FF but that might work.
Entering the VIN has worked for me so far!

Cleared VIN but can’t flash with esys getting an error. There was only 2 short found in this eeprom. Any idea what can it be ? Cluster works but has red dot mileage is correct as it was higher than what the cluster had. HUD does not work as well.

I think that there is still an old VIN stored.

Did you found VIN also in M95320?
