F07 used FRR/ACC install
hello. I bought used radar for adaptive cruise control (FRR) and I am having truble to make it work.
Seller says its 100% working but ISTA shows no response from FRR unit. Sellers electronic guy is saying that it has to be "coded" with esys to work but I cant figure it out. Both ISTA and ESYS shows hwInstall action as needed and fail programming since they dont get a response from unit. I am not extremely familiar with ESYS so maybe I need to do something else, not programming. But my logic says that when contorl unit is not responding then it cant be coded/programmed or anything and therefore its faulty (other aspects as cables etc checked and ok). Can someone confirm me my opinion or help what to do with radar to make it work? Thank you |

Hello,
before flashing, use ESys and do read ECU on coding tab, if you will see FRR on ECU tree, it is ok. If not, check wiring like voltage. Thorsten BMW OEM FSC codes for Apple CarPlay 143 and 17B, AndroidAuto 1CA, MGU and MGU21 region conversation and others

Is this a retrofit or are you replacing this unit?

RE: F07 used FRR/ACC install
How have you determined that previous unit got bad??? Have you looked at the signals using oscilloscope? Or just parts cannon? At the VERY least have you measured resistance across S-CAN wires on FRR connector (as well as resistances to the power/ground)???
Because it now looks less and less likely your problem was/is the FRR unit... |

No, havent checked with scope, just the resistance and voltage on scan cables that looks ok. Old one was sometime in the past damaged in crash, broken and then water damage all over the pcb inside radar. |
