You will find patched ediabas 7.3 for Rheingold in post #1 of the following thread:

Extract it and run the installer.

installed it as instructed tried to run it and it worked

then i tried to run the installed 3.44 and it worked to

from a clean win7 ultimate 64 bit sp1 installation you can install the "Standard_Tools_Setup 2.12" then check that you have the 4 files installed (net framework Etc. )
then install the 3.44 (follow instructions )
turn of wireless
plug-in icom2
don't make any network changes
start program

testet on 2002 BMW 735 LI E66

I got the program to work. It runs, provides me with the usage notes, seems to function properly. However, I have two problems and I'm not sure they are related to each other.

First of all, and most importantly...I cannot connect to the car for some reason. It just says no vehicle detected. I have one of those chinese made K+DCan cables, using WIN XP SP 3.

The second problem is that I'm also getting the database missing error. I'm not sure if this would affect my ability to connect to the car. That doesn't seem related to me, since it doesn't register at all. Maybe if it didn't have the necessary information about the car, then it might point to a missing database, but that doesn't seem to be the case. I could be wrong though, because I'm completely new to this. Have never used DIS or INPA. I've tried unblocking files using Powershell 2.0, but it doesn't work. I can't get 4.0 to install on XP. So I've gone in manually and unblocked everything in the SQLiteDBs folder and the TesterGUI folder. That hasn't changed the database error.

Anyway, I've tried installing the drivers that came with the cable, as well as changing some settings around like com port and latency. I also went into ediabas.ini and set the interface to STD:OBD...hopefully that was a good move.

Any ideas?...something I'm missing?

did you select it in VCI Manager ?

I did select Ediabas in the VCI manager, and tried any other options that might work.

I removed the Chinese language, as mentioned at the start of this thread, because I'm not using it. Does that create an error message? Does Rheingold look for all language databases at startup, or just the active one?

Got it connected!

Showing lots of faults after scanning, including "transport mode", which is my main reason for this.

Anyone know how to deactivate/delete transport mode using Rheingold? I searched the program for an article on it...found one, but it contained nothing.

Also, I'm able to read the car for faults, and clear most codes, but that seems to be about it. Is that all this application is capable of?

It has not vertical scroll bar, when it display text document. it very hard to roll the text document.how to solve the problem.
