I have шоdёd my car with help of this great community some 6y ago, adding HUD, kafas camera, nbt evo, 4g modem etc. Wouldn’t be surprised if only DavyG has more mods than me  
All working perfectly fine- like no issues whatsoever. 
Unfortunately my 2015 520d is recalled for dde issue and BMW told me it requires full software upgrade- all modules. 

I am stuck on 1806 level as this is the last one that works correctly with APIX1 screen. 
For last days I tried to find people with similar issues, going through many threads, but couldn’t find anything that specific. 
So starting new thread. 

Is there anybody in the same situation?
I know some people adopted with some cutting and gluing APIX2 screens to f10 and that apparently allowed them to jump over 1807 level. 
Is this the only option?

Any thoughts?
How did you all deal with recalls which needed software upgrades while using nbt evo in f10/11 series?

As the recall only affects DDE and the EGR system, why not updating to latest DDE software by yourself, and then bring the car to dealer with customer request to first check if any DDE update available to vehicle. Disapprove further actions to control units if no DDE update available.

Seems you have evo installed.... How they are going to update car if you HU does not match your VO? Or reinstall NBT... so ilevel of evo doesnt really matters
As Stratofortress mentioned, update yourself the modules and bring car to dealer

update your DDE offline and update your i-level to a higher level and have the dealer scan it. or just ignore the recall.

You are not stuck with that ilevel. Newer ones can be convinced to work with apix1.
Your dealer won't be able to update your vehicle anyway during the recall since i5тд will ask to replace the headunit since it's a retrofit so apix1 is the least of your problems.
Update the DDE at home and ignore it.

I had my EGR Cooler and valve replace by the dealer without having to programm the DDE, mine has also a retrofit from NBT to NBT EVO and the cluster 6WA to 6WB.
And my F10 from 2016 is tuned ,i had several recals from BMW Germany but 3 different dealers refused because the car is not stock , then i found one BMW dealer that just said no problem we have lots of customers that have there car tuned and dont want to program the DDE . So if you want the EGR cooler and valve to be replaced to the new EGR Cooler Borg Warner and this under warranty ,you have to sign a paper that BMW is not responsible anymore if your there is something wrong with the EGR after this recall. I signed the paper and they changed the EGR cooler and valve under warranty without programming the car. And my EGR valve is already programmed a few years back to always stay closed.

Friend of mine retrofitted G series touchscreen into F10 without any issues. It requires cutting and modifying bit of dash and screen enclosure.

my dealer ( Germany ) did the recall on egr cooler few weeks ago , Mini S with ID4 to ID6 upgrade . latest I-Level ,

Install is possible without cutting or modifying dash.
APIX2 screen dosn't help for update the car. BMW workshop need retrofits are required that match the vehicle's build level. EVO and ATM do not meet these requirements. BMW Workshop can't update car in this state.
Update is only possible with ё5у5.

Programing of DDE is required only on some models
