I think it's gonna working with manual coding.
Make an ssd file with e89 specs. Add apps in VO and code your cic.
I know it will work. (With v41)
(E89 file is not need but can cause problems in your e60)

I know that there is no script that can activate apps.
Never heared about that.

When I retrofit my combox I also ask darksys about script activation and apps.
He told me that there is no solution without an Fsc inside of cic.
The script can only work when there is an Fsc stored in cic.
That means that when your cic never had an specific option (Fsc stored) you never will get it work with scripts.

An script don't activate anything when you will do it on virgin cic that never get an Fsc stored into.

So I know that it will not work.

But when you downgrade its an other thing because apps havend an Fsc in v41.
Or you store an Fsc in cic.
Why not an Fsc for your VIN?!
You have not to downgrade or anything with this solution.
It's done in 20minutes.

I make maybe 5 or 6 navigation units (cic and nbt)
And never had problems with it.

Rethink your way. It's easier.

Flashing an ecu is always an risk!!
Only flash when it's necessary!
