Difference 677 vs. 688 F series ?
Hello!
Whats the difference between 677 HiFi system Professional DSP and 688 Harman/Kardon surround sound system? I saw that the speakers are the same, only part nomber of the amplifier is different. Thanks

I have retrofit 677 to my F11 car. Flashed the Amplifier to 688 without problems.
The 688 is a little bit newer Hardware with other software, not more. Connection and speaker are the same. It’s only the new variant for newer (most LCI) cars.  If my post helped you hit the thanks and reputation button. Thank you.  |

i did retrofit to f10 with 677 (from stereo), but amp has some strange problem, so need to unplug all components and get 688 from different source. all connections seats. maybe have somewhere also partnumbers, but as i remember, main number was same, but 688 have -02 instead 01. set has 2 extra tweeters for rear doors.

In F1x car both systems 677 and 688 (6F2 also) have 16 speaker with rear doors. ( 7 midrange, 7 tweeter, 2 woofer)
Stereo has 6 speaker without any tweeter. ( 4 midrange, 2 woofer) Hifi 676 has 12 speaker without rear doors ( 5 midrange, 5 tweeter, 2 woofer) If my post helped you hit the thanks and reputation button. Thank you. |

in meaning of hardware, 677 amplifier is made by Leir and 688 - by Harman Kardon. In Leir are used analog amplifier chips and in HK - digital, so 677 is more "true" sound, but you will never feel it with car speakers)))))

677 and 688 both made by Harman Kardon. 688 has another DSP Software, not more.

F01 677 is lear. Should have mentioned F01 sorry my mistake.
