I have a problem with Active Sterring in '04 E61, it has an error:

006131 - AL: Control unit: flash operation or error NEC (Rheingold 3.52)



Firstly I tried to program AL control unit with WinKFP and ISTA/P, but it goes to 100% and then got an error (WinKFP):




2089 PABD switching programming mode failed. 10FLASH, DIAGNOSE_MODE (ECUPM); ERROR_ECU_SECURITY_ACCESS_DENIED__SECURITY_ACCESS_REQUESTED
2086 PABD Signature chceck failed 10_FLASH, FLASH_SIGNATUR_PRUFEN (Daten;255) ERROR_ECU_ROUTINE_NOT_COMPLETE
2086 Error Signature check failed SG_PROGRAMMIEREN
2086 Error Signature chceck failed

I replaced AL control module (under passenger's seat), but got the same issue.

Which interface programming car?
if D-CAN - ansfer is : change interface...
AL programming is possible ONLY with ICOM or OPS

replace it with another.

I program it with ICOM A. I replaced ECU with used one but nothing changed. Could be another ECU with the same error? Cables to AL ECU are ok, fuses are ok.

Course it can be faulty as yours
secondhand item always can be fucked up

You must CHANGE AL ECU, ecu is defecive!

Yes, had the same issue long time ago! Got another used AL ecu, same error! I checked everything, can-bus, powers grounds all ok. Programmed with original icom and ista p or winkfp. Even expert mode winkfp same issue as you! Turned out to be defective AL ECU! So even the used one was bricked.
