Updating NCS-Expert, etc. with new data files
Hi,
I am about to update my data-files in NCS-Expert, EDIABAS, etc... But since I never have done this before, i just want to be sure that I'm doing it right... Updating the "NCSEXPER\DATEN" folder i quite forward! Put all newer files into the chassis-folders... But what about the "EDIABAS\Ecu" and "NCSEXPER\SGDAT" folders? What is the procedure to update these folders, since everything has to be in same folder? And is it enough to just copy the newest files into the folders or do I have to start from the oldest I can find? (Atm. is my oldest V32 and newest V54) Thanks in advance! (: //NO^DICKHILL

RE: Updating NCS-Expert, etc. with new data files
The best way is using Bmwcoding tools. Just select folder and click on "update sp-daten"
Regarding version, just take last ones! Enviado desde mi GT-I9505 mediante Tapatalk If I help you, please push thanks and reputation

RE: Updating NCS-Expert, etc. with new data files
Thank you so much for the quick reply! (:
I think I have found it, so I will give it a try! Okay. So there is no files in the older versions that is needed? Which means that I can delete every file in the mentioned folders and just copy the files from V54? - UPDATE: Well.. The program couldn't run on my laptop... (Win 10 Pro X64) So back to the old way and why use a program if it is enough to use the latest? (o: But I don't quite understand why an ex. E46 and E60 have the same SGDAT files. (And the same for Ecu) And sorry for this stupid question, but it has been years since i last used this. //NO^DICKHILL

Say m54 engine is been used in e46/e39/e60/etc.... so therefore there is only need for 1-2 files to communicate to modules/computer Say remote Garage Controller(near sunroof) Is from 2001 and it's been used in cars say until 2008-9 3/5/6/7/8-series so therefore there is only need for 1 file to communicate to that peace of equipment and so on and so forth If any of my posts or current one helps then don't forget to press thanks and add a reputation

My E46 330Ci Convertible '01 don't have leaving-home light when i turn off my car, until I tap the high-beam switch. But I can activate the funktion. So okay... Same file for newer models which have the right module that supports it. //NO^DICKHILL

RE: Updating NCS-Expert, etc. with new data files
Sorry, sorry, sorry! :/
The program works fine now... It starts when putting the missing "MSCOMCTL.OCX" into same folder as the program, and when running it as an Administrator. (When not running as administrator, it just gives the missing MSCOMCTL.OCX error.) //NO^DICKHILL
