All vcredist and netframework, included in torrent, downloaded from official microsoft site.

Guys any possibility to do expert mode in ISTA+ like in /P???

Installed and working on Win 10 Pro.
ISTA-P loads and recognizes the car (E60 LCI) via K+DCAN cable (didn't do any coding yet). ISTA-D is also working and reading all modules.

FAQ is very useful as it contains all the necessary information to configure and run ISTA.

One thing to mention, .NET Framework 3.5 (mentioned as being needed on FAQ) is a little bit tricky to install. You need the installation CD/USB for Windows and you need to run the command below where D:\ is your installation media drive letter.

Yes, you don't need the 7zip package after extraction.

In the past I had managed to install an earlier version of ISTA on my old laptop but it was a struggle. I bought a new laptop to support the more recent releases of ISTA and your FAQ and associated files are hands down the best experience I've had getting ISTA installed and operational. (Sure, the torrent download is what it is but that's a separate animal.) You, sir, did an outstanding job with your FAQ allowing a pretty much pain free experience. (Although it would be nice if I could print them.) As I have only a couple E-series cars, I did not install the SDP and I didn't have to bother with the ICOM install either. But I have no doubt your instructions in those areas were equally bulletproof. Now for the question(s).

Since I have only an E-82 and an E-84, is there any need for me to be concerned with the latest and greatest versions of Rheingold and ISTA/P? The download process is a time suck and going through the install process is a chore even when everything goes as planned. And since I did a clean install I'm not even sure what the process would be to go from the versions in this thread to something newer. What say you?

No you don't need the latest version of Rheingold/ISTA-P for your cars. However, there are some fixes in newer versions, so some old version might have a software bugs in it. Rheingold isn't that large to download. If you want you use NCS Expert insted of ISTA-P.

Regarding torrents, IMHO it's the best platform to share things like this hands down. With torrents you can choose that you want to download, you don't have to download the entire package.

True. I have NCS Expert as well and did in fact download only the needed torrent files. I'm just not a fan of the platform but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.
