Solution: ETKA not updating
I had this strange problem after i installed etka 8.0 on my windows 10 64 Bit. Whenever i wanted to update, it would not update (no reaction at all) or i needed to restart my laptop for every update.
After searching online i saw more people with the same problem, but no real solutions. After some own research, i found a 100% working solution. Normally, when you have downloaded the latest updates, and start etka, it will detect the updates and ask if you want to install them. But in some rare cases like mine, this popup never shows, and clicking update wont trigger anything either. A simpel solution is the following: 1 - Open a terminal with admin privileges (cmd -> run as administrator) 2 - Navigate to etka install dir (e.g. C:\ETKA\) 3 - Navigate to prog1 dir in ETKA install dir (e.g. C:\ETKA\prog1\) 4 - Run the following command: etupdcontrol "C:\etka\prog\etka_au.ini" This command will install any update available for audi db in ETKA. For vw, skoda or seat, simply change the au to vw/sk/se (e.g. etupdcontrol "C:\etka\prog\etka_vw.ini") Hope this helps some users who had the same issue as me. Also, ETKA 8.0 CAN run on Win 10 x64 |
