Afaik hud will work with a retrofitted 6WB on a pre-lci.

With 2013+ iLevel and 6WB that has HUD option, non HUD version of the 6WB would not work

That was resolved on post 2 already not sure why you guys keep posting about it that it will work.
We know that already, and prerequisites have been posted on post 2 too.

There's a PDF document that gives more detail on retrofitting this KOMBI panel,

If you get a used one will need to erase old VIN that is located in the 160D0WQ-Chip. A good R270 Software could do the job. Stay away from china 12 dolars things.

ALSO :

if you install a KOMBI with higher mileage, the CAS module in the car will likely update to this higher mileage, and there’s no possibility to revert !!!

In the end you need ti flash the kombi and write FA to car.
