You mean connect ICOM to router and not directly to laptop?

Yep.

And this is to avoid issues with IP address assignments during flashing, yes?

Thanks for confirming.

And just to be sure, ICOM with ISTA+ will do all ECU's and NBT without issues and also teach adaptions afterwards?

RE: I-Step Update Ready to Go?
Excellent, thanks for your help.

So, now I am convinced that the best way to do this safely is with an ICOM and ISTA+

Where best to buy a genuine ICOM in Europe?

You want to flash your own M2($$$$$) but don't want invest 600$ for ICOM, that you can sell any time everywhere. Look for dhcp server and you don't need any hardware router.

Where are you from in Europe?

I-Step Update Ready to Go?
(21-01-2018, 12:09 PM)DoZZa Wrote:  I appreciate your help with this.

I have seen quite a few people successfully complete an update with an ENET cable and E-Sys. So I am wondering why I would need to spend the money on an ICOM when it can be done with ENET.

Do you have personal experience with programming failure with an ENET cable?

We can only prefer that to be sure 100% goes fine.

But you can pay your own instructive money.

When you‘re cheap enough hear to people how now from what they speak.
When you follow a hand full of threads in forums you can see there are enough people where buy expensive cars and want to save up money for diagnostic equipment.

500€ is nothing for a good tool.

It‘s not our bricked car. It is yours.

If my post helped you hit the thanks and reputation button. handshakehandshakehandshake
