looks like this is ME7.2? there is boot mode option for it, luckily for you as the other 2 ECUs there isnt

it seems you connect like this:

if you have no comms then you may aswell remove ECU, open it and atleast show us the hardware configuration


PS - files are not corrupt, you had a bad flash

So far I’ve manage to take ECU out.

I would like to boot mode it on the car as it’s probably easier. I need to get a new car battery and I’ll connect it to a battery charger.

1. Touch boot mode pin to ground before switching ignition on.

2. After switching ignition on, release boot mode pin from ground after 2 sec.

3. Run fg tech in boot mode.

4. I’m not sure witch Bosh me7 flash 400 or 800 boot mode should I chose ? Again not sure which chip should I look at to get it right ?

5. Try to get communication with ecu.

6. Once I obtain connection should I write to file with checksum corrected ?

I found some stuff that I need to take some fuse out, don’t know much about it

This is the part I struggle to figure it out.

Can some one give me some hints please ?

You have 29F400xx flash memory in that dme.

Do NOT write the 64kb in boot mode!
Try to do a read first.

It requires a 512kb fullflash.

You don't have to do anything with any fuses.

Just hold ground on boot pin for 5 - 10 seconds while powering dme, then release and read 512kb file with tool.

And doing it on your own will be a pain if still connected in the car

unsure where ecu is located in this vehicle but can imagine holding the boot pin will be arkward.....unless you solder cable to it and use croc clip

anyway, read boot file first dont just willy nilly write mod files. And as ive said before write original back before pissing about with mod file

OK, well his boot mode wasn't able to get any reads at all, so I sent him a correct fullflash virginized, which was written successfully.

Seems like somehow the original bootloader was corrupted? Not sure how that was possible.

curious if you can share this virgin .bin with me as well? Also curious if you just ended up reflashing the partial flash via Galletto in order to achieve the tune in the files
