how to update VI on kombie
Been having a few issues with my Kombi module, been trying to work out whats causing the issues.turns out i have the wrong VIN (something to do with a previous owners)
my issues have been cant reset service etc SOS failure cannot code to kombi whats involved in changing the vin, they must of done most the work because the mileage is either correct or they got a second hand instrument cluster with a near mileage. as far as im aware the eprom chip has to be changed and correct mileage applied, otherwise a tamper light comes on (which i dont have) if anyone could let me know what to look for or what tool (winkfp or tool32 etc) to use that would be great there are other modules with corrupted vins or not requiring vins if any one can shed the light on them too |

How to update VI on kombie
You can’t change vin by flashing. If you see in uif incorrect vin is in kombi. But since you don’t have a tamper dot an emulator (which blocks vin exchange between kombi and cas) is likely installed. You need to take kombi apart and change vin with programmer.

For that purposes you may use a R270. After that it is recommended that you run a full update via ISTA-P, your firmware is definately old. |

No. If t had people would just change kombi all the time to tamper with the milage
 You need to take kombi out. Attach the programmer to the m35080 or 080dwq chip and change vin to FF. Then flash with winkfp. |
