(SOLVED) E60 SZL, DSC error after attempted VO coding
I was trying to code VO in E60 to change from Japan to ECE using abrites. Cant recall but I think i coded VO to DSC and SZL and AFS.

Now I have a DSC error on cluster and SZL error "not initialized" in ISTA, Attempts to initialize fail as the program seems to hang at the beginning when it requires lock to lock steering manipulation for active steering initialization.

It is as if SZL is not being seen or has stopped transmitting or there is a mismatch between coding if related DSC partner ECUs. I have programed it with WINKFP successfully, then default coded it with NCSExpert. No luck.

I am at a loss, the unit must be recoverable or there is a minor step am missing. Any leads? I would be grateful for suggestions.

It was failing at the very beginning is the active steering alignment ABL when the steering should be turned left and right. Did it 20 times, nothing, like it hanged. It is as if it is not reading steering angle from SZL.

Do you know that you need move steering wheel only few milimeters to left and right when performing calibration?
You say angle not seen how about when you turn of engine?
if you have inpa check uif of szl afs , and if vin not correct , correct it by flashing it , then code on empty man , then try perform calibration again.

RE: (SOLVED) E60 SZL, DSC error after attempted VO coding
Well the SZL was working before all this. The initial initialization instruction is to turn full lock both sides. Nothing was happening.

So someone with autoboss connected and performed the alignment straight up as they tell me.

No idea why ISTA had a problem. Very funny.
