Has anyone had problem with new FSC activator for 2018 modified by Baas J.? I did update to K0260 and maps 2018 east and all worked well but MMI showed a message on display after 1-2 days "No update device found" like h?the situation when switching between east and west maps. This time SD card with east EU map was inserted and no one didnt touched it at all and "No update device" poped out after 2 days? Weird huh? i will try to reinstal 2017 maps and see what happens then but not sure is this new activator will work? Shoud I remove it and install old activator for 2017 maps?

I have the same problem.

I updated the firmware to k0260,later maps 2018 and i used the activator added by user bass J.
The navigation is activated and maps east works but if i insert sd into slot1 with maps west then the display shows an information " no update for device found"

the problem is, how the activator works. this is not problem of user bass j's script. this is problem how the hacktivation is actually done with killing vdev-logvolmgr because there is no true FSC File available to activate normally. Unit does not know anymore what Map Version is installed after killing vdev-logvolmgr. On Units with Hard Disc (e.g. 3G High / 3G Plus) it is working well. But on 3G Basic with changable 2 DVD's/SD's it is not!

you have to remove the hacked activation to get normal system. and then insert west or east maps. then update is possible! after that apply again the hacked activation (e. g. bass j's script) - maybe later i will do another script for activation/deactivation everytime you put it in, but now have no time, so use this one:

when you want to remove hacktivation i made a script. Be careful! use Script only on *3G Basic* Units. When using on 3G High or 3G Plus Media Menu is not working anymore.

1. apply script to sd card
2. wait till mmi is up for some time like 2-3 mins.
3. insert sd card with script
4. now sd card script is bringing unit in normal condition, removing complete files of hacktivation
5. after script finished - remove SD Card and reboot mmi with 3 buttons solution
6. now your map is not activated anymore, but you can apply other map like west or east. after install get a sd card script for apply the hacktivation you got from the map source (e. g. bass j's script) and apply it. After reboot you now can use the other map and mmi activated again.

Hi. thank you for adding information to deactivate mmi 3g basic, but your script does not work.
I copied your script to the SD card and put it in the socket, but nothing happens.
I tried both slots and nothing.

Hi, questions from a complete newbie. My 2011 Firmware (or maps) have never been updated, is the recommendation still to go to 0257 first then 0260 or can I go straight to 0260 ?. If its 0257 first, where do I find it ?.

I am confused about how to put folders on the SD Card, when you unzip the .rar downloaded from Mega, it produces lots of folders within folders, do I leave them this way, or do I go down to each folder level and put those folders in individually, or indeed do I need to find all the files ? The 1.7 instructions aren't clear to me on this bit.

Succesfully updated my A4 B8 2009 MMI 3G Basic DVD 3 days ago.

Let the car motor running idle all the time.

Firmware update from P0022 to K0260 (27 minutes with 16GB SD Class 10)
Map Update from 2014 tot 2018 West (5 minutes with 16GB SD Class 10)
Activator from Baas J (1 minute with 16GB SD Class 4)

I only installed Maps 2018 West. Didn't try East because of potential problems and the fact that i will probably won't need it.

Well, I did update to 2018 East only (did not insert west EU map because of problems with No update device found) and still problem persists. I'm waiting for someone to make a script for removing FSC and will install 2017 maps which are working good.

See at Post #203 ... there is a script. did you try it already? got no feedback from anyone, so I think it is working. also rechecked script after kris's post and it should work.
