NBT EVO - occasional black screen
I recently flashed my EVO ID5 unit with the latest PSDZDATA, FSC are patched codes.
Since the flash I have re-installed into the car - was EVO ID4 from factory - I am occasionally getting nothing on the CID - the radio continues to play but the screen is black. If I reboot the unit it comes back ok. It has been very warm here in the UK, so I wondered if it was a temperature protection issue or if it's a problem with the patched codes? Everything works fine, all online services are 100%. Car was left in a garage last night and no issues this morning when I left for work. Has anyone else encountered this? |

Happened 3 times yesterday - car had been sat in direct sunlight all day & cabin was hot. |

Perform a diagnosis. If display was shutdown due to overheat it will be recorded as a trouble.

There is your error: internal fault in CID. So basically CID crashes on hot days. You may try to flash the latest software to it, but the hardware may be faulty. What action ISTA recommends for that error?

There isn't any way to flash firmware to the CID, it does not show in esys/ISTA+ as a flashable ECU. I have a spare screen, I will test that tomorrow. |

Sounds like an overheating issue or incompatibility of languages between CID and KOMBI.

I upgraded to a new headunit on iD5 - all was fine then I flashed with new firmware and updated maps to 2018-2 then I started getting the black screen. now, it is unseasonably warm in the UK at the moment - we are having a heatwave. I have swappped the headunit back to the original iD4 HU and the car is parke din the sun at the moment - hoping the same fault will appear........ I'd be surprised if it were the firmware, i think it's just conincidental but the test today should rule that out. |
