Hi,

I have a deep technical question.
I have a new G30 BMW 530e bought in a NOTconnected drive country.
Altough 6AK is included in the config as mandatory. I bought it with Business Navigation (606).

As I spent some time in Germany, I registered my car with the German connected service, and many things started working in the connecteddrive section. Also remote is working.
However, Apple CarPlay Preparation is marked as non compatible with my car, and I cannot buy it from the ConnectedDrive Store.
I spent a lot of time talking with the German ConnectedDrive customer service technition, and he told me, that a wifi antenne is missing from my car. He also told me that it's not the Wifi HotSpot what I miss.

Just for curiosity I configured a car in the German BMW configuration page with the same options as mines', and 6CP (CarPlay preparation) was selectable, but together with it it automaticaly included 6WD (Wifi HotSpot). Other difference was that it included 6AU (Connected E Drive services), instead of 6AG (E Drive services).

I also checked my car HU (HU_ENTRYNAV2), and in the back of the HU, the wifi antenne IS connected, and other end of the antenne IS in the wiring on the left side of the driving seat under the carpet.

So I assume in the worst case I have to get the ATM modul replaced (I have R2-ECE-4G instead of R2-ECE-4GW) to get the HotSpot option.

And now my question, in case I order this replacement from an official repair partner, could an official dealer or service partner register this replacement back to BMW? I assume this is needed to make me allowed to purchase the CarPlay service by the ConnectedStore.

Only works on Professional radio option 609 as far as I know. Not much to do with wireless charging, hotpost or atm etc
Same as movies etc..really 609 is the option that offers those extra features

Ok maybe but car configurator also say not possible to order carplay without wireless charging...
Someome will clarify shortly hopefully

You have to retrofit wifi antenne. It is the same one as for Navi professional. Then
Bmw has to register that the car has been retrofitted with option 6CP. You of course also need to add this to the VO and code the car.
When bmw has register the 6cp option you will be able to buy it via connected services

It sounds promising. Thank you! So if I understand correctly, there are 3 steps to be made:
1.) Retrofit wifi antenne. (I don't need to do it, because the antenne is in place. I made photos of the back of the HU, so it's there)
2.) VO code the 6CP option in the car. I assume an authorized repair center can do it.
3.) BMW has to register the 6CP option.

How this 3rd step is going. What is the process you followed to get the 6CP option registered at BMW?

So if un got it right, if wireless charging is installed or internet with hotspot, then is no need to install wifi antenne and should i have the carplay option available in the portal to buy it

No, you definitely need the Wifi antenne. It most probably means that with these two options, you already have it.

Sorry, I got confused. I meant who should initiate the 3rd step? Shall I call the ConnectedDrive Customer Service and ask them to register, or the authorized repair center will do it on their own?
