HaQing Diagnostics Software
Qraking legitimate software to make money out of someone else's work is illegal, and sites cannot condone or participate in activities of this kind.

This is not the same as decrypting software for experimental or educational purposes; free of charge, and if the person using the software is not making money out of this usage. Obviously the software owners may (if they feel worth it) go after the HaQer and the site and confiscate money made.

Cars already come with a set of tools and tyre change kits, and they don't ask for a certificate or a license before offering these tools while there are users who cannot change tyres or even a light bulb!! and if the user breaks a nut during the repair attempt, he alone holds the responsibility.

Having said that, I believe that car manufacturers should make the Diagnosis tools to perform whatever tasks or updates available to car owners at a nominal cost. Owners may utilise these tools if they feel competent (as we are doing currently) or go to the dealer or any third party who will charge for their services.

Remember, the manufacturers have already sold the cars and got the cash, and usually these tools, like the Lexia VCI and DiagBox, are specific to their range of products. Creating a new service market through exclusivity, and depriving owners from performing their repairs satisfactorily, should not be condoned either.

On many an occasion, I believe I would have done a better job at diagnosing and PROPERLY fixing my car than a dealer or other repair shops, at my own convenience, less time off the road and a lower cost. I am quite sure that the majority of this site members share the same opinion.

My suggestion is that, the manufacturers should offer the tools with the cars together with a version of the software limited to the sold car, just as they are providing a tool set and tyre change kit. If not, make car specific versions commercially available at reasonable cost. Until such day, people will continue to exercise their right of re-configuring the tools to perform needed and necessary tasks on their vehicles if they feel competent.

Simple,

That's a good idea, but big car brands will not give up on their expensive services. If they could sell vehicles without tires for you to pay more to get them, they would sell today.

The real problem is that a lot of dishonest people are doing their business..all this to take advantage of the hard-working people like Scary or Maitresox.

And for the moment you are the only survivor

RE: HaQing Diagnostics Software
Can't argue with any of those points.
Never known car manufacturers to give anything away for free though!!

RE: HaQing Diagnostics Software
It would not mean giving away something for free. This could be seen as a sales promotion.
It would improve brand image too. A much smaller investment than any advertising campaign car manufacturers have.

New car buyers would not care about this for fixing faults but would see it important when increasing resale value.
