Original VAS5054a interface cable
Hi guys,
I have bought a genuine VAS5054a head along with the interface cable that consist of usb mini at the vas head side and fischer connector at the PC side. The problem is that my laptop is not equiped with Fischer type socket. Has anybody tried to connect it via usb to usb cable or know where to get the adapter ? Thanks |

well i have tried a similar cable (that i have used for VAS clone) but the laptop didn't detect the original vas head. What is special in your proposed cable ?

Hi
I have just done the same thing connecting a genuine vas 5054a to my laptop using a standard usb cable. Using gus's odis 4.4.10 software it picked the interface straight up. with Bluetooth the serial number is the pairing code pair with windows first and apir with odis with the com port specified. This is all on windows 7 32bit |

I have managed to pair it via bluetooth but still no luck with the cable. I have tried 2 x (mini usb to usb type A) cables so far and still no luck. Laptop is not detecting the head. This is a rufurbished vas and I'm not sure if it's the usb port issue.

So because i dont know what type of cable you used this that i suggest you as i told you works 101% and safely since i had same problem with my two original heads in the past when i got them..........  If your Vas head have problem with his usb port because you said is refurb not a clue............  You must check about this.........  Regarts...........

I have bought the cable you recommended but the detection problem still remains. I have also found that there is an VAG adapter cable VAS5055/4 but the price is just ridiculous. It looks like I have to return the head due to usb connection issue.

For the price you paid as second hand you can buy either original VCP or VCDs. I have ordered original VCP which is fully supported at least for a year.
