1GM  Tech2Win working in VM
Hi all,

I made some changes to the binaries for T2W to allow it to work in VM. Tested in VMware but should work in other environments.

Also patched for license. Install T2W (2.332 (2016), 2.322 (2015) or 2.302 (2014)) normally and replace emulator.exe.

No pass/begging for rep.

Enjoy.

Thanks, can confirm it brings up the box to allow you to select vci device, however app crashes when data is being transmitted over vci, tested with vxdiag and no car connected just testing different values.

Hey,

Are you sure you have your environment set up correctly? I'm using a VCX Nano and seeing no crashes. Also, blue light flashes on my VCI so there is communication. Tho I must say, VCX is crap in T2W (GDS 2 works better, but not alot).

On MDI 8.3.103.117 I was seeing the exact same crashes. Are you on the latest firmware on VCX?

Tell me the versions you are using (T2W, MDI, VCX, GM VCX driver) and I'll try to replicate.

RE: Tech2Win working in VM
Yea vcx nano isn't the best, have had luck programming modules with SPS but never had luck with tech2win with it.

My version of GM Mdi is 8.3.103.26
VCX Nano firmware is 1.4.4.0
VXDiag version 1.4.2.0927
SDK 1.6.0.0

T2W is 2.322

When opeing tech2win i get the box popup that allows me to select device and two are listed MDI and MDI2 they are the same device vcxnano.

For example i select North American and then select the MDI device - Pick 2013 - Passanger Car - Chevrolet - J - Body - VXdiag blue led blinks fast (comms is good) - t2win closes on its own.

Definitely seems like an issue in your environment mate. I'm on the exact same versions as above. Here is what I see:

Re-produce the crash again and upload the latest file from C:\Users\Public\General Motors\Tech2Win\Logs and I'll take a look. No promises - this software is quite terrible.

RE: Tech2Win working in VM
Ok - Think i worked it out, seems i had tech2win 2.332 instead of 2.322.

All working now.

Thanks again for releasing this.

No problem, the version mismatch in your log is what tipped me off. I added 2.332 to the first post.
