Hi all,

I would appreciate some help with using NCS Expert to code my 1998 E36 328i.

I have connected up NCS Expert and have successfully connected to a couple of modules but the one I really want to code, the GM4 module is not playing ball.

I keep getting a COAPI-2020 error, which I understand is telling me that the modeule is not responding or does not exist. Well is shows up on the list of modules, but I just can't connect to it.

I have tried a couple of different profiles, and updated the daten data using v51 files, still no difference. I know the connection is good (using the USB interface) and INPA works fine, it's just this module.

Can anyone throw some light on the issue? This is the only module I want to code

You need ADS interface or ICOM. ADS interface requires a real COM-port in your computer, USB-COM adapter will not work.

Thanks, but is that the issue here? I thought I would get a different error if it was a connection issue?

I've got an ADS adaptor on the way anyway as want to use INPA to reset my service, so I can sort this either way.

Yes, "module not responding" means what it says . I checked wiring diagrams, it is definitely an ADS module.

I have the same problem with my new BMW Radio Professional from 03/2011.

I changed from Radio Professional (year 2007) to Radio Professional Bluetooh & USB (year 2011). The old radio works with my interface but not with the new radio ... COAPI-2020 error.

Rad2 with Bluetooth is only Access able via icom Interface.
Ober Tool32 And dcan cable u can turn on Bluetooth
So is the Information in other Forums

Dont Know, i never found a working icom emulator Or i was to stupid to use it
