2011 328i cic I was messing around tool32 and wiped the maps when i check my fsc status shows everything is good but the navigation is greyed out . i try to find map data info and in tool32 it tells me no map data. I need to know if i just load them same way with  usb sticks or do i need to load  with dvd. i have no access to navi submenu how does it know when to load maps thanks.

With a 2011 you should be able to load from a usb stick in the glove box. Just start up the CIC then plug in the usb stick, it will prompt you for the activation code within about 30 seconds if the usb is loaded properly (fat32 format, nothing else on it).

You can generate your own activation code using the CIC FSC Generator tool (https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1453464) and some trickery involving a usb script (https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1461515)

Thanks I will give it a shot. btw anyway to split up an flash file into 4 usb sticks or so.

i'm not aware how to split one of the big single-usb files. some of the map versions are already split up... try the 2018 ones
